Principal's Message

Greetings Parents and Families of Shorecliffs Middle School,

My name is Brad Baker and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. As a former Shorecliffs student I am overjoyed to serve the students, staff, and families.

My wife (Amysue) and I have lived in and around San Clemente for over 30 years. We have two children, Ben (12) and Grace (9). I value the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

I have had the opportunity to serve in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past sixteen years; all of them with Capistrano Unified School District. Some of the roles I have held include Science teacher, High School Activities Director, Middle School Assistant Principal and most recently Assistant Principal at San Clemente High. My academic background is grounded in Southern California as well, including a Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.

At its best, education is a partnership; whenever possible, parents and teachers must inspire all children with words of encouragement and take action with kindness. As a community we must treat our children with respect and believe in their dreams. All children will be successful if they are infused with a strong sense of resiliency supported by a proper education. Together, our task is to make this happen every day.

Please feel free to come visit or email me directly with constructive ideas, questions, concerns or great news of any kind.
